Save Your Back and Transport in Style!

Save Your Back and Transport in Style!

As a DJ, bringing in a bunch of expensive and, more importantly, heavy equipment can take a toll on your body as the years go on.

It's always said that you should always be working smarter not harder. One of the best ways to do this is to get yourself a cart to transport everything all together.

Let's start off with carts to maybe avoid if you are already in the market for. These are great carts and dollys but I feel for our needs, they may not check all the right boxes.

These are great for transport materials but depending on how the back wheels are they can sometimes be a pain. Dealing with flat tires is never something anyone wants to deal with on a cart and it doesn't fold down as much as I would like.

Pretty obvious why this one doesn't really work for our line of work so moving on!

Believe it or not, I've seen a few people use these and I always wonder how they fit it in the car when they're done!

I don't think this will fit a lot of gear but if you roll up with this at a gig, I'll be first in line!

Again, everyone is different and have different preferences but in my experience these carts have had different issues with flat tires, not folding down enough, or not being able to hold a full load of gear.

Here are some alternatives that I think can be a HUGE help for you at gigs!

Rock N' Roller Cart R16RT

These Carts from Rock N' Roller has been a huge hit with a lot of DJ's that I've met and for a good reason.

The R16RT Cart is incredibly portable, and can hold up to 600 Pounds! The reason this cart is super popular is because of how well you can fold it down to pack in the car or hide at a gig. The build on the frame of the cart is super sturdy and can withstand a ton of wear and tear. The wheels also are low-profile and feature no flat tires so you're not worrying about getting a flat after taking a turn the wrong way!

We've got them at the shop so either swing by and check it out or even just order it on the website! Check out the link right here: Rock N' Roller R16RT Cart

Rock N'Roller R18RT

Another great Rock N' Roller Cart, this one is a bit different from the R16 because it can hold up to 700 pounds and folds out a bit wider and longer. It's a heavier duty cart that is designed to be more rugged than its predessor. The frame tubes a thicker in order to accomidate the heavier load. It's definitely made for those DJ's (like me) who are one-trip people! Everything on one go! Here's the link for this one: Rock N' Roller R18RT "Mega Plus" Cart

Gator Frameworks 52" Standard Utility Cart

Switching things up from the Rock N' Roller Carts is the Gator 52" Standard Utility Cart! This cart is incredibly sleek with the all black and red design and the wheels create an incredibly smooth ride. We've used one of these around the shop for transporting incoming shipments and big orders and it always rolled the best from our other carts. This Gator cart can hold up to 500 pounds and can extend up to a little over 4 feet. This is a great alternative to the Rock N' Roller R16 Cart and comes with the Gator customer service which is always great!

Again, let's all work smarter and not harder. You want to be able to have longeivity as a performer so finding anyway to save your body from the wear and tear of our job is a huge help. Each cart has pro's and cons and there are many more out there that will do the job! I've used each one of these and they are all fantastic choices for the day to day grind we all go through.
