Yup that's right, the technology works the same in terms of sending and receiving vibrations through the diaphragm. Just plug your DJ Headphones into the Mic input of your DJ Controller or DJ Mixer and give it a test. Since your headphones have a larger surface area you may be more prone to audio feedback so watch your gain level. So if you arrive at a gig and need to make a shout out but realize you forgot your microphone don't fret - Just plug in those cans and conversate with the crowd. Unlike the show Jackass, we recommend you try this at home. Preferably with one of our Technics DJ1200's or V-Moda LP2's!

If you're rocking on the CDJ 2000's/3000's then you undoubtably know about the USB-A ports on the top left. Sure they're there for other reasons but if you forgot to charge your phone before the gig and just need a bit of juice to take the perfect gig selfie go ahead and pop in your USB cable. These days more and more mixers/media players are coming with USB ports so it might be worth trying on whatever gear you got to see if you get the same bonus feature.
You rush out the door to your show without realizing you left your slipmats at the last venue you played at. Easy fix. Grab a pair of scissors and cut those plastic shopping bags into a nice circle to give you that frictionless glide you need to cut those records. Sure its not perfect, but its a lot better than the alternative of solely using hot cues and keyboard commands for an entire set. Plus you get to be a friend to the planet by recycling. Sorta.
Maybe you knew all of these, maybe you learned something today. Either way we got your attention so do yourself a favor and buy some backup accessories to insure against putting yourself in the crosshairs of disaster.
